Let's Go... - October '15

Hello!  Joyce Mehrberg here from Cards-by-the-Sea and I am our host for this month's festivities. It's the end of October, and that means that it is time for our regular 12 Kits of Occasions post.

I went rogue and chose my own theme this month....Let's Go.  I used papers, stamps and dies all around the theme of travel and far away places. Last year, I purchased 2 pretty expensive sets from PTI, Get Lost and Pack Your Bags, and they had not seen much (any) love, so I decided to base my kit on those sets.  I also used a few stamps from Penny Black and Tim Holtz and paper from Echo Park.  You can see a complete supply list under the heading 'Monthly Kit Supplies - 2015 on the tab above.

We are joined by 2 additional crafty friends this month.  Kara from K and R Designs and Jacquie from What did I do today?.

Welcome to My Nightmare - September '15

Hi everyone! What a fun kit this was to put together. Although this month's theme is "welcome to my nightmare" I had fun putting together a kit full of Halloween cuteness! I have a lot of Halloween stamps and what I used in the kit didn't even really brush the surface, but I was so happy to get to share some of my stash with my very talented friends. I just can't wait to see what they create!

We want to welcome Lisa Elton who will be joining us for the remainder of 2015. Lisa is stepping in for Cathy who is taking some time off to tend to some family matters as her mom has just passed away.

A Spoonful of Sugar - August '15

Hi Everyone!  It’s the end of the month [where did it go?] and that means it is time for 12 Kits of Occasions!  What is 12 Kits, you may ask?  It is a fun team of card-makers that take turns putting together a kit full of fabulousness so each can have her way with it!  FUN!

I am your host this month, Michele Ferguson a.k.a. I Card Everyone.  It is my very first time – scary, but loads of fun trying to put my finger on the pulse of just what will make my team-mates smile.  A Spoonful of Sugar is the theme – besides evoking songs, and wonderful memories of Mary Poppins, it allowed me to purchase a few new ‘get well’ themed products, as there weren’t many to work with in my stash – I know! How could I let that happen?

My kit starts with a Heidi Swapp collection of papers, a few favorite die-cuts and sentiments, and stamp sets galore – you’ll find them all listed above under the Supplies heading.  I even threw in a few of my own silly [I try funny] self-penned sentiments.  I was also just a teensy bit sneaky and added an element in the kit that just didn’t fit with a prize for the first person to use it in their own creative way!  Way too fun, and I cannot wait to see if any of the girls caught on – or I totally failed, which could totally be the case, and would allow me to laugh at myself!

These smart and crafty 12 Kits girls have blown my mind with their creativeness!  OH!  I have also invited a friend to craft with us this month:  Michelle Leone [Two Ls to me] from Pretty Periwinkles, and a team-mate from CAS[E] this Sketch.  I love her style, and know you will too!  Thanks, Two Ls, for playing cards with us this month!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year - July '15

It's the Most wonderful time of the Year...welcome to the Christmas in July edition of the 12 Kits of Occasions.  I am the hostess this month, Cathy Weber of The Empty Nest Crafter and I had a great time preparing for my kit starting last December when there were lots of holiday supplies available.  I know it may seem hard to believe as the weather is hot, hot, hot almost everywhere, but this month we are beginning to prepare for the holiday season of 2015.

Along with the our usual 12 Kits of Occasions team, we are very fortunate to have Lisa Elton of My Paper Tales joining us as guest designer.  I have always loved Lisa's cards and I feel a special bond with her as we both just welcomed our first grandchildren earlier this year.

My kit this month is based around a beautiful pack of patterned papers from My Paper Studio called It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.  I loved the combination of red and green plaids and cozy reindeer and stockings.  If you would like to know more about the ingredients in our kit, please click on the Supplies tab at the top of the page.  I hope you enjoy this month's cards made with my holiday kit.

Second Helpings - June 2015

It is leftover month at the 12 Kits of Occasions and there always is. Each of us have oddles of past kit supplies leftover to play with and make more projects with. So on leftover month that is exactly what
we do.

We have also had quite a few guest designers during the first half of this year. We were lucky to have Taunya Butler in February when we did Bye, Bye, Birdie and we are thrilled to have her back with us again this month. Be sure to visit her blog and see what she has created. Below is one of the cards she has to share.
